Frontispiece-portrait of Jenner by Anderloni, engraving of a medal on title, pp. 223, (3), with at the end 4 fine folding hand coloured engraved plates by Anderloni. First Edition of this compilation of earlier writings of Luigi Sacco (1769-1836; doctor and hygienist) on vaccination against smallpox. Sacco introduced smallpox inoculation in Italy in 1799 and reported his results in the present book. It was very influential in promoting the general acceptance of Jennerian vaccination both in Italy and the rest of Europe through translations into French and German. Waller 8375.
