First edition, large paper copy, of Volta’s final memoir on galvanism, presenting his mature argument identifying galvanic and common electricity. Originally submitted in 1805 under a student’s name for a scientific competition, the work was later expanded and published with additional notes. It represents Volta’s most important contribution to the debate between galvanic and voltaic theories.
