Parchment bifolium, c. 325 x 230 mm (writing space 270 x 170 mm). Text in Gothic script, arranged in two columns of 55 lines. Decorated with a large illuminated initial “Q” in gold and colours extending over seven lines; titles in faded red. Recovered from binding; recto legible, verso heavily abraded with losses, holes and discoloration. Text includes passages from Letters 48 and 51 (recto): Quomodo quisque potest, mi Lucili!... Timore misceri... A fine fragment of a humanist manuscript transmitting Seneca’s moral philosophy, with notable illumination. •⁠> This lot is located in and ships from the UK.
