Signed by Eugène on the third page. Also signed by Wallée, quartermaster. “This book, consisting of six sheets, shall serve as a register of the sums to be paid as salary during Year V to citizen Beauharnais, an auxiliary of the 1st Hussar Regiment, who serves as aide-de-camp to the commander-in-chief” (this last word replaces the crossed-out name of Berthier). Milan, 25 Fructidor, Year V of the Republic. In the following pages, one can trace the itinerary of Eugène, who accompanied Napoleon first to Paris and then to Egypt.
