The lot is anchored by Body of Time by Sister Ellen Murphy, C.S.J., designed by Frank Kacmarcik and published by North Central Publishing Company of St. Paul, Minnesota. Completed December 17, 1971, it is numbered 218 of 1,300 copies.  Peace and Justice, the address of Pope John Paul II before the United Nations General Assembly, designed by Kacmarcik and numbered 938 of 1,200 copies. Go in Peace, the address of Pope Paul VI before the United Nations General Assembly, translated by Vincent Yzermans, designed by Kacmarcik, and numbered 230 of 800 copies. The Word is Man, translated by Robert Hovda, designed by Kacmarcik as the 18th Christmas Book published by North Central Publishing Company, and numbered 205 of 800 copies. The grouping is further enriched by several decorative cards designed by Kacmarcik, including a Minnesota Environmental Control Citizens Association card with photographs by Phil James and Judy Olausen and text by Henry David Thoreau, personally signed and inscribed by Kacmarcik, “Delighted to hear of your Lilly Endowment Project - Frank”; an Interracial Council of the Twin Cities card from 1968, also signed by Kacmarcik; a decorative Christmas card; and a card depicting the “Pacher Madonna” wood carving of Salzburg Franciscan Church. Taken together, this is a cohesive collection of Kacmarcik’s work in book design, religious publishing, social commentary, and decorative print, with the added interest of signed material and multiple numbered editions.
