Beis Aaron. First Edition. Frankfurt 1690. Unidentified Rabbinical Signatures.
Indices to Biblical verses explained in the Talmudic, Midrashic and later rabbinic literature by R. Aaron Ben Shmuel.
The author viewed his work as a continuation of the earlier work, Toldos Aaron, by R. Aaron of Pesaro. Whereas Toldos Aaron provided only Talmudic references, in Beis Aaron the scope was broadened to include Midrashic and Kabbalistic literature as well. Highly unusual title pages with depictions of Aaron Ha’Cohen & Shmuel Ha’Navi.
Vinograd Frankfurt 41. Beckmann press. 2, 2, 56, 58-178. 3 title pages. 31 cm. Fine condition. Foxing. Very slight worming on the margins. A few pages loose. Antique binding (loose).
Opening bid $200
