UNIDENTIFIED SIGNATURES . Fundamental sefer with the glosses of R. Shlomo Luria, The Ma’HarShaL on Talmud Bavli. These glosses were written by The Ma’HarShaL on the margins of his Talmud. Following the passing of The Ma’HarShaL in 1573, his sons published these glosses. Written on nineteen tractates (commonly learned in the great Polish Yeshivos) these glosses include both textual corrections, novella and many diagrams. They were later included in almost every later edition of The Talmud although in most cases the printers shortened the glosses. Universally accepted, the Ma’HarShaL’s glosses have for hundreds of years become an integral part of Talmud study. Originally printed in separate pamphlets, hence their scarcity and separate pagination for each tractate. Stefansky Classics 63. Prostitz press.
