CLASSICS. PESIKTA ZUTRASA. MIDRASH LEKACH TOV. FIRST EDITION. VENICE 1546. - Midrash Lekach Tov by R. Tuvia Ben R. Eliezer. R. Tuvia Ben R. Eliezer was a Talmudist and poet of the 11th century. He authored the Pesikta Zutrasa Midrash Lekach Tov on the Chumash and Megillos. Although the author referred to his Sefer as Lekach Tov, (an allusion to his name Tuvia), since the mid-16th century however, it has been most often referred to as Pesikta Zutrasa “the small Pesikta” in distinction to the Pesikta Rabsa “the Great Pesikta”. It became known as Pesikta, as the editors of this edition found no title in the manuscript, but noted that every verse was headed פס” ‘piska”, and assumed the name of the Sefer to be Pesikta.
