Deix, Manfred (1949-2016) - Elvis Oil on paper 20.28 x 16.73 in Manfred Deix presents in “Elvis” his characteristic satirically exaggerated visual language, in which the pop icon is transformed into a grotesquely humorous figurative world. With a distinctive line and deliberate exaggeration, an ironically distorted homage to the “King of Rock ’n’ Roll” emerges, sharply reflecting typical social clichés. The work was shown from 23.11.2019 to 12.04.2020 at the Wilhelm Busch – Deutsches Museum für Caricature und Zeichenkunst on the occasion of the artist’s 70th birthday in a major retrospective.
