Armenian Pottery Flowers Plate - Armenian ceramic plate, decorated with geometric patterns. Painted and glazed clay. Marked at the bottom: Jerusalem alongside the mark of the joint workshop Balian - Karakashian. Jerusalem, circa the second quarter of the 20th century. The Armenian pottery workshop in Jerusalem was founded in 1919, at the end of WWI, when the British invited the iznik master potter David Ohannessian to help with the restoration of the tiles of the Dome of the rock mosque in Jerusalem.
