Jewish Wooden Chest - Adam & Eve - Hebrew Verses - Biblical Adam and Eve. Box made by an unknown artist. One side of it shows the expulsion from the Garden of Eden, while the other side shows Eve giving the forbidden fruit to Adam. Inscribed with the relevant Hebrew verses. The front is carved with the forbidden fruit, and the back is carved with a leaf. Carved and painted wood. Unknown origin, apparently The United States. Apparently circa the early 20th century. Height: approximately 36 cm, Base: 56X34 cm. Good condition, scratches, chips, wear. * All lots in this auction are located in South Carolina.
