Royal Doulton Wall Pocket, Owl D5771
From Wall Masks and Pockets series. Brown owl with sleepy eyes, surrounded by green foliage.
The trend for hanging wall masks of chic young ladies and jovial jesters was at its peak in England during the 1930s. Some of Royal Doulton most famous artists, including Leslie Harradine, Harry Fenton and Richard Garbe were credited with creating these colorful designs. The outbreak of World War II brought production of these wall masks to a halt. Today, with the revived interest in all things Deco, these delightful wall masks are extremely desirable once again. Royal Doulton backstamp. #Ceramic #England #HomeDecor
