Gekko (Japanese, 1859-1920) Woodblock Print, Shidare-Zakura
A beautiful hand painted color, and ink on paper woodblock vertical print. Meiji Period, features a group admiring a tree. Title print translation: Weeping Cherry Tree. Original print can be found in the 1890s series, Nihon Hana Zue (Pictures of Flowers of Japan), by the ukiyo-e artist Ogata Gekko. Title series and title of print on the top right. Artist signature and publisher seal on the lower left.
