French Gilt and Patinated Bronze Portico Clock, 19th Century
A French Gilt and Patinated Bronze Portico Clock, 19th Century. The circular enamel dial having Roman numerals, the twin train movement with a five-bar gridiron pendulum, striking on a bell, the backplate with Samuel Marti pastille, stamped 'MADE IN FRANCE', numbered '4005'.
Dimensions: Height 16 1/2in; width 8 1/2in; depth 5in.
Provenance: Property from the Collection of Lisa and John DeBella.
Condition:
General marks, wear, rubbing and toning to the case. Dust accumulation to crevices and gridiron pendulum. The enamel dial with hairlines, small losses and fleabites around the arbor holes. Minor bending to the minute hand and a small loss. With winding key and pendulum. The clock was maintaining power, striking correctly and running for a period of time at the time the condition report was conducted. We cannot guarantee the completeness and functionality of the clock's movement.
