An 1865 Bronze Medal, Abraham Lincoln

A large bronze medal by Franky Magniadas. The obverse with a profile of head of Lincoln facing left; text around perimeter: "DÉDIÉ PAR LA DÉMOCRATIE FRANCAISE A LINCOLN PRÉSIDENT DEUX FOIS ÉLU DES ÉTATS-UNIS"; very small text below bust: "FRANKY MAGNIADAS". The reverse features an image of Lincoln's tomb with winged angel and two African Americans honoring him; text on tomb: "LINCOLN L'HONNÊTE HOMME / ABOLIT L'ESCLAVAGE RÉTABLIT L'UNION / SAUVA LA RÉPUBLIQUE / SANS VOILER LA STATUE DE LA LIBERTÉ / IL FUT ASSASINÉ LE 14 AVRIL / 1865"; at bottom: "LIBERTÉ - ÉGALITÉ - FRATERNITÉ"; in smaller text below tomb: "FRANKY - MAGNIADAS"; American eagle emblem at top.
