Pennsylvania Chippendale Softwood Two-Part Dutch Cupboard
A Pennsylvania Chippendale Softwood Two-Part Dutch Cupboard, Late 18th / Early 19th Century.
The upper section with a molded cornice above a pair of glazed cupboard doors with twelve lights, enclosing a shelved interior fitted with plate grooves, divided by a central three light panel. The conforming lower section fitted with three short drawers over a pair of paneled cupboards, raised on bracket feet.
Dimensions: Height 83in; width 57 1/2in; depth 20in.
Provenance: Property from a Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia Estate.
Condition:
The upper and lower sections are together by association. The surface has been skinned. With rebuilding and reconfigurations. Structurally sound. Heavy marks, wear, nick, abrasions, scuffs and surface scratches overall. Several glazed panels appear to be replaced. Shrinkage and age cracks. Glued repair to the right side of front right foot.
