Philadelphia Federal Mahogany Pembroke Table, First Quarter 19th Century
A Philadelphia Federal Mahogany Pembroke Table, First Quarter 19th Century. The rectangular top with hinged scalloped drop leaves above a frieze, fitted with a single dovetailed half depth drawer, raised on reeded tapered legs. Tulip poplar secondary wood.
Dimensions: Height 28 1/4in; width closed 20 1/2in; width open 42 1/2in; depth 35 3/4in.
Provenance: Property from a Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia Collection.
Condition:
Structurally sound. Retaining an old refinish. General marks, wear, nicks, abrasions, surface scratches and small losses. Glued repairs to the drop leaves where they meet rule joints. The brass pull is replaced.
