Chinese Export Black and Gilt Lacquer Sewing Box, 19th Century - A Chinese Export Black and Gilt Lacquer Sewing Box, 19th Century. Of octagonal form, with hinged lid enclosing an interior with removable lacquered tray, raised on carved giltwood figural feet. Dimensions: Height 5 1/4in; width 11 1/4in; depth 8in. Provenance:  Property from a Local Collection. Condition: The surface in overall good condition, typical wear and craquelure to the lacquered surface. The interior lacking compartmental fittings. Wear, rubbing and loss to gilding on carved feet. One foot is slightly loose, otherwise good condition. No key.
