George III Style Mahogany Hall Clock, Retailed J. E. Caldwell & Co. Philadelphia - A George III Style Carved Mahogany Hall Clock, Retailed J. E. Caldwell & Co. Philadelphia, Fourth Quarter 19th Century The case carved with Neoclassical motifs, ending in paw feet, the arched brass dial with rolling moon phase having an engraved silvered chapter ring having applied brass chapters with painted Arabic numerals, inscribed to the center 'J. E. CALDWELL & Co. PHILADELPHIA', with a subsidiary seconds dial, all within silvered spandrels, the three train movement striking on a 6 1/2-inch gong. Dimensions: Height 98 3/4in; width 24in; depth 14 1/2in. Provenance: From a Local Collection. Condition: The case with typical marks, wear, nicks, abrasions and surface scratches throughout. The finials with heavy wear, breaks, and losses. The right colonnette to the hood with small breaks and it not completely secured. We cannot guarantee the completeness or functionality of the clock's movement.
