A Queen Anne Style Carved Walnut and Brass Portable Pillar Barometer, Early 20th Century
The rectangular hood with central finial having silvered plates engraved with weather indications above a brass Ionic capital and turned column, raised on a figural tripod base modeled as recumbent lions.
Dimensions: Height 39 1/4in; width 10 1/2in; depth 10 1/2in.
Provenance: From a Philadelphia Estate.
Condition:
Mercury is present. The case is in overall good condition. Typical wear, rubbing, minor verdigris, abrasions and surface scratches to the metalwork. We cannot guarantee the functionality or completeness of the scientific instrument.
