English Silver Mounted Leather Bucket, 17th/18th Century - An English Silver Mounted Leather Bucket, 17th/18th Century With heraldic crest to the front inscribed ”FARE FAC” and ”THOMAS LORD FAIRFAX / General in Grief 1646” to the silver rim. Dimensions: Height 14 1/2in; diameter 14 3/4in. Provenance: From a Philadelphia Estate. Footnote:  Sir Thomas Fairfax (English, 1612-1671) was appointed Commander in Chief of the Parliamentarian's 'New Model Army' in 1645 during the English Civil War. Condition: The leather is somewhat dry, with wear, scuffs, abrasions and scratches, otherwise good condition overall. The silver mounts with heavy wear, tarnish, toning, rubbing and losses.
