George II Style Carved Walnut Open Armchair in Equestrian Upholstery - A George II Style Carved Walnut and Equestrian Upholstered Armchair, 20th Century The rectangular back above outswept arms with acanthus carved, reeded and fluted terminals and supports, over a trapezoidal seat, raised on heavily cabriole front legs with carved foliates and scrolls to the knees and returns, ending in animal claw front feet and pad rear feet. Dimensions: Height 37in; width 28in; depth of seat 20 1/4in; seat height 18in. Provenance: From a Philadelphia Estate. Condition: The upholstery with general wear and fading overall. One of the arm terminals is heavily chewed up. Otherwise, typical marks, wear, scuffs, abrasions and surface scratches throughout.
