Texas Honeycomb Pieced Quilt Top, Signed and Dated 1882 - An American Honeycomb Pieced Quilt Top, Houston, Texas, Dated 1882 Comprising a variety of solid and jacquard fabrics in plain, twill and sateen weaves. Each hexagon is pieced to a paper foundation. With ink inscription signed,  ”Louis E. Smith. / Houston / Texas / 1882”. Dimensions: Dimensions approximately 58 x 52in. Condition: Unfinished. With losses and minor unraveling along edges. Scattered tears, losses and deterioration to some pieces throughout. Was previously mounted to a rigid mount and wall hung, now removed.
