Pennsylvania Chippendale Walnut Blanket Chest, 18th Century - A Pennsylvania Chippendale Walnut Blanket Chest, Fourth Quarter 18th Century The strap hinged rectangular top with applied molded edge enclosing a dovetail-constructed box with a right covered till, with waist molding over two drawers, molded base below, raised on dovetailed bracket feet. Tulip poplar secondary wood. Dimensions:  Height 31 1/4in; width 51 1/2in; depth 24 1/2in. Condition: Structurally sound. Shrinkage and minor age cracks. The top with wear and some fading, there is an area of poor restoration where the two boards meet. Wear and toning to brass hardware. The iron crab lock is currently no engaged. No key. Otherwise general marks, wear, abrasions, surface scratches and small losses commensurate with age and use.
