George II Inlaid Walnut Chest of Drawers, Second Quarter 18th Century - A George II Inlaid Walnut Chest of Drawers, Second Quarter 18th Century The crossbanded rectangular molded top above two short drawers over three long drawers, each with inlaid fronts and cockbeading, flanked by fluted canted corners, molded base, raised on bracket feet. Formerly the upper section of a highboy or chest-on-chest. Dimensions: Height 37 1/4in; width 39 1/2in; depth 19 1/4in. Provenance: Property from a Greater Philadelphia Estate. Condition: Structurally sound. Heavy wear, loss, buckling and movement to veneer on top chest. Scattered repairs and replacements throughout. The hardware is replaced. The base molding an feet are later. No key.
