Chinese Export Porcelain Famille Rose Bowl; Western Subject - A Chinese Export Porcelain Famille Rose Bowl, First Half 18th Century Polychrome decoration in famille rose enamels, depicting a central figure in Western dress, playing an instrument and seated on a pierced taihu (rockwork), the border with alternating birds and flowers.  Dimensions: Height 1 1/2in; diameter 8 7/8in. Provenance:  Purchased with James Gallery, Rahns, Pennsylvania, July 31, 1981.  Property from a Greater Philadelphia Estate. Condition: Examined under UV light, there is no fluorescence. Minor scattered rim chips, wear and rubbing to decoration.
