Four American Glazed Redware Tankards/ Mugs, 19th Century - Four American Glazed Redware Tankards/ Mugs, 19th Century Comprising a 5in manganese glazed tankard, purchased in 1981; a 5 1/4in manganese glazed barrel form tankard, incised body, applied strap handle, and unglazed foot, purchased in New Hampshire, July 25, 1982; a 6in manganese glazed tankard with incised body and applied strap handle, purchased May 23, 1993; and a 5 3/4in lead glazed tankard with incised rim and applied strap handle, purchased in 1976. (4) Dimensions: Heights range from 5 1/4in to 6in. Provenance: From a Bucks County Pennsylvania Collection. Condition: Each in generally good condition overall. Typical glazing and firing flaws from manufacture. Crazing throughout. The smallest mug with a significant inner rim chip. The barrel form mug with roughness and minor flaking to the rim. Some with hand-painted inventory numbers to the underside.
