Group of American Lead and Manganese Glazed Redware, 19th Century - An Assembled Group of American Glazed Redware, 19th Century Comprising a 4 1/2in lead glazed shaving mug with soap cup insert, purchased at Black Angus, Adamstown, Pennsylvania, 1981; a 2 1/4in manganese glazed bowl with incised foot, purchased 1981; a 3 1/2in manganese glazed porringer with applied strap handle; a 3 1/4in manganese glazed mug with applied strap handle, purchased in Manchester, Vermont, May 22, 1992; a 2 1/2in lead glazed cup, probably Pennsylvania, purchased with Rosemary Jones, New Hope, Pennsylvania, 1982; a 1 3/4in lead glazed open cup with incised rim, possibly New Hampshire, purchased 1993; a 5in diameter manganese glazed lid; and a 3 1/2in diameter manganese glazed lid. (8) Dimensions: Heights range from 2in to 4 1/2in. Provenance: From a Bucks County Pennsylvania Collection. Condition: Each in generally good condition overall. Typical glazing and firing flaws from manufacture. Crazing throughout. Most with small chips, roughness and minor flaking to the rims. Some with hand-painted inventory numbers to the underside.
