Charles I Parquetry Inlaid Carved and Joined Oak Armchair, Mid 17th Century - A Charles I Parquetry Inlaid Carved and Joined Oak Armchair, Probably Leeds Area, Yorkshire, Mid 17th Century The shaped crest carved with foliates, fruit and scrolls above a parquetry inlaid paneled back carved with a large central lozenge, the downswept open arms on columnar-turned front supports, above a trapezoidal boarded seat over a carved front seat rail and parquetry inlaid side rails, raised on columnar-turned front legs, joined by square stretchers.  Dimensions: Height 49 1/4in; width 23 1/2in; depth of seat 16 1/2in; seat height 18 1/2in. Provenance: From a Local Collection. Condition: Structurally sound. Scattered old restorations throughout, minor repairs. Wear commensurate with age and use.
