Charles I / II Carved Oak Boarded Box on Stand, 17th Century; Stand Later - A Charles I / II Carved Oak Boarded Box on Stand, Second Half 17th Century; Stand Later The rectangular box having a molded hinged top, enclosing an open interior, with lunette and leaf carved decoration to the front and sides, raised on a later oak oak stand with square legs. Dimensions: Height 7 1/4in; width 21 1/2in; depth 14in; Height including stand 22in. Provenance: From a Philadelphia Main Line Collection. Condition: Structurally sound. The original iron snipe hinges are replaced with 18th century iron strap hinges. General marks, wear, nicks, abrasions, surface scratches, shrinkage, age cracks and small losses. No key.
