English Joined Walnut Backstool / Side Chair, Mid 17th Century - An English Joined Walnut Backstool / Side Chair, Mid 17th Century The crest rail, stiles and seat are covered in woolen needlework upholstery, raised on turned columnar front legs and square back legs, joined by a box stretcher. Dimensions: Height 40in; width 20in; depth of seat 15in; seat height 21 1/4in. Provenance: From a Philadelphia Main Line Collection. Condition: The stiles with minor movement. Scattered old repairs, replacements and reinforcements throughout. The left front columnar leg with spliced repairs. The front legs and stretchers with repairs and older replacements.
