Mortise-and-tenon construction. Dimensions: Height 27in; width 28in; depth 18 1/2in. Provenance: From the Dorothea & Tom Buckner Estate. Dotty (Dorothea) and Tom Buckner began collecting Early American painted primitive furniture and accessories in 1979 and over the next 22 years they were regular buyers from a number of respected Bucks County, Pennsylvania antique dealers. Condition: Structurally sound. Retaining an old painted surface, overall wear, general marks, nicks, abrasions, and surface scratches overall. There is a vertical glued repair to the back right leg where is meets the horizontal rail.
