Federal Yellow Pine Splay Leg Stand, Early 19th Century - A Federal Yellow Pine Splay Leg Stand, Early 19th Century The square single-board over hanging top above a frieze, raised on molded square tapered splayed legs. The top is screwed and pinned, mortise-and-tenon construction to the legs and frieze. Dimensions: Height 28 1/4in; width 19 1/4in; depth 18 3/4in. Provenance: From the Dorothea & Tom Buckner Estate. Dotty (Dorothea) and Tom Buckner began collecting Early American painted primitive furniture and accessories in 1979 and over the next 22 years they were regular buyers from a number of respected Bucks County, Pennsylvania antique dealers. Condition: Structurally sound. General marks, and wear throughout. The surface has been scrubbed, traces of painted surface to the cracks and crevices of the surface, otherwise good condition.
