Assembled Group of Six Black-Painted Windsor Chairs, 19th Century - An Assembled Group of Six Black-Painted Windsor Chairs, 19th Century Comprising a pair of nine-spindle hoop back chairs with bamboo turned legs; an eight-spindle hoop back chair; a seven-spindle balloon back chair with bamboo turned legs; and two sackback armchairs with baluster turned legs. (6) Dimensions: Height of smallest side chair 36in; width 16 1/2in; depth of seat 15 1/4in; Height of armchair 38 1/2in; width 27 1/2in; depth of seat 14in; seat height 17in. Provenance: From the Dorothea & Tom Buckner Estate. Dotty (Dorothea) and Tom Buckner began collecting Early American painted primitive furniture and accessories in 1979 and over the next 22 years they were regular buyers from a number of respected Bucks County, Pennsylvania antique dealers. Condition: Structurally sound. Each retaining an old painted surface. Refreshing and traces of earlier painted surfaces throughout. General marks, wear, rubbing, nicks, abrasions and surface scratches throughout.
