Two Pennsylvania Walnut Boxes, Early 19th Century - Two Pennsylvania Walnut Boxes, Early 19th Century Comprising a rectangular hanging wall box with nailed construction and heart cut-out to the scrolled backboard and a dovetailed slant lid box. (2) Dimensions: Height of hanging box 8 1/2in; width 13 1/2in; depth 6 1/2in; Height of slant lid box 5 1/4in; width 13 3/4in; depth 7in. Provenance: From the Dorothea & Tom Buckner Estate. Dotty (Dorothea) and Tom Buckner began collecting Early American painted primitive furniture and accessories in 1979 and over the next 22 years they were regular buyers from a number of respected Bucks County, Pennsylvania antique dealers. Condition: Each box with general marks, wear, nicks and fading to the surface. Shrinkage, age cracks and minor repairs. The dovetailed box with separation to some joints.
