Two American Miniature Softwood Chests, 19th-20th Century - Two Miniature American Softwood Chests, 19th-20th Century Comprising a 19th century salmon-painted four drawer chest and a 20th century stained pine blanket chest. Each chest having nailed construction. (2) Dimensions: Height of four drawer chest 15 3/4in; width 13 1/2in; depth 8 1/4in; Height of blanket chest 8 1/4in; width 14in; depth 7 1/2in. Provenance: From the Dorothea & Tom Buckner Estate. Dotty (Dorothea) and Tom Buckner began collecting Early American painted primitive furniture and accessories in 1979 and over the next 22 years they were regular buyers from a number of respected Bucks County, Pennsylvania antique dealers. Condition: Each chest is in generally good condition overall, typical marks, wear, nicks, abrasions and surface scratches throughout. The four drawer chest lacking molding to the cornice and base to the back of either side.
