Late Federal Cherry Tall Case Clock, First Half 19th Century - A Late Federal Cherry Tall Case Clock, First Half 19th Century The white-painted arched wooden dial having Roman hours and Arabic minutes, hand-painted spandrels and large rose to the lunette, the twin train wooden works movement striking on a bell. Dimensions: Height 97in; width 19 1/4in; depth 10in. Provenance:  From the Dorothea & Tom Buckner Estate. Dotty (Dorothea) and Tom Buckner began collecting Early American painted primitive furniture and accessories in 1979 and over the next 22 years they were regular buyers from a number of respected Bucks County, Pennsylvania antique dealers. Condition: Structurally sound. The case with typical marks and wear commensurate with age and use, retaining a dark and dry and untouched surface. Wear and nicks heaviest to feet. Touch-up and in-painting to the dial overall, with vertical age crack. There is a significant vertical crack to the box base. Minor dust accumulation throughout. With two weights, pendulum, winding crank and case key. We cannot guarantee the completeness or functionality of the clock's movement.
