Two American Country Painted Benches, 19th Century - Two American Country Painted Benches, 19th Century Comprising a small red-painted low bench and a slate gray/blue painted bucket bench with low stretcher. Nailed construction throughout. (2) Dimensions: Height of smaller 18 3/4in; width 24in; depth 10in; Height of larger 21 3/4in; width 32 1/2in; depth 13 3/4in. Provenance: From the Dorothea & Tom Buckner Estate. Dotty (Dorothea) and Tom Buckner began collecting Early American painted primitive furniture and accessories in 1979 and over the next 22 years they were regular buyers from a number of respected Bucks County, Pennsylvania antique dealers. Condition: Each bench is structurally sound. With heavy wear and loss of paint to surface. Heavy marks, wear, nicks, abrasions and small losses.
