Pennsylvania Stained Tulip Poplar Two-Part Corner Cupboard, Early 19th Century - A Pennsylvania Tulip Poplar Two-Part Corner Cupboard, Early 19th Century In an orange/red wash. The upper section with a heavily stepped molded cornice above a single door with twelve glazed panes, having arched lights to the top row, enclosing a painted shelved interior with plate grooves, resting on a conforming lower section with single dovetailed drawer over a pair of raised paneled cupboard doors, molded base below, scalloped skirt, ending with bracket feet. Dimensions: Height 81 3/4in; width 39 3/4in; depth 21in; corner 27 1/2in. Provenance: From the Dorothea & Tom Buckner Estate. Dotty (Dorothea) and Tom Buckner began collecting Early American painted primitive furniture and accessories in 1979 and over the next 22 years they were regular buyers from a number of respected Bucks County, Pennsylvania antique dealers. Condition: Structurally sound. Retaining an orange/red washed surface. The surface has been scrubbed down and the painted surface has been removed. Turned wood knobs and brass knobs are replaced. Several glass panes are replaced. General marks, wear, nicks, overall.
