Chippendale Red-Painted 3/4 Tall Chest of Drawers, Late 18th Century - A Chippendale Red-Painted 3/4 Tall Chest of Drawers, Late 18th Century The applied molded cornice above two short drawers over three long graduated drawers and base molding, raised on bracket feet. The top of case stamped 'W.A. MOORE'. Chestnut secondary wood. Dimensions: Height 47 1/4in; width 39 1/2in; depth 22in. Provenance: From the Dorothea & Tom Buckner Estate. Dotty (Dorothea) and Tom Buckner began collecting Early American painted primitive furniture and accessories in 1979 and over the next 22 years they were regular buyers from a number of respected Bucks County, Pennsylvania antique dealers. Condition: Structurally sound. The hardware is original, heavily toned and darkened. Wear to the painted surface overall. General marks, wear, nicks, abrasions and surface scratches overall.
