Pennsylvania Red-Painted Softwood Jelly Cupboard, 19th Century - A Pennsylvania Red-Painted Softwood Jelly Cupboard, 19th Century The rectangular top with backsplash and shaped sides over two dovetailed drawers and a pair of paneled cupboard doors below, ending in bracket feet. Dimensions: Height 46 3/4in; width 41in; depth 17in. Provenance: From the Dorothea & Tom Buckner Estate. Dotty (Dorothea) and Tom Buckner began collecting Early American painted primitive furniture and accessories in 1979 and over the next 22 years they were regular buyers from a number of respected Bucks County, Pennsylvania antique dealers. Condition: Structurally sound. Retaining an old dry surface. Typical marks and wear commensurate with age and use. The back splash having a large triangular spliced repair to the upper left side, measuring approximately 12”.
