Two Queen Anne Painted Hardwood Candlestands, 18th Century - Two Queen Anne Painted Hardwood Candlestands, 18th Century Comprising a green-painted walnut stand with single board circular top, above a turned support, the tripod base ending with cabriole legs; and a pale pink-painted cherry stand with single board square top, above a turned support, the tripod base ending with cabriole legs. Each top is scrubbed down and stationary on the turned support. (2) Dimensions: Height of green stand 24 1/2in; diameter 19 1/4in; Height of pink stand 27in; width 18 1/4in; depth 18in. Provenance: From the Dorothea & Tom Buckner Estate. Dotty (Dorothea) and Tom Buckner began collecting Early American painted primitive furniture and accessories in 1979 and over the next 22 years they were regular buyers from a number of respected Bucks County, Pennsylvania antique dealers. Condition: Each candlestand is structurally sound and retaining a later paint decorated surface. The pale pink stand once had tilt-top action, now fixed stationary. Minor old cracks and repairs, typical nicks, marks, abrasions, surface scratches and small losses throughout.
