Pennsylvania Calico Wool Challis 'Courthouse Steps' Log Cabin Quilt, Circa 1875 - A Pennsylvania Calico Wool Challis 'Courthouse Steps' Pieced Quilt, Late 19th Century The 'Courthouse Steps' pattern is constructed by a variation of the 'Log Cabin' block. All hand pieced, summer weight, finished with turned edges. Dimensions: Dimensions approximately 76 x 76in. Provenance: From a Philadelphia Collection.  Condition: In overall good condition. Wear commensurate with age and use. Minor scattered wear throughout, fraying and small losses along edges and where blocks are seamed together. Minor discolorations and stains. Several scattered small old mends to holes.
