American Pieced and Applique Cotton Quilt, Circa 1930 - An American Pieced and Applique Cotton Quilt, Circa 1930 Comprising forty-nine hand pieced blocks,  hand quilted at 7 stitches per inch with circles, hearts, stars and other whimsical shapes to the white ground. The rainbow strips of yellow, orange, green and red are machine applied. Thin batting and finished with a hand stitched pale pink binding.  Dimensions: Dimensions approximately 87 x 86in. Provenance: From a Philadelphia Collection.  Condition: Scattered staining and discolorations throughout. Likely never laundered. Pencil guide lines beneath quilting throughout.
