Mid-Atlantic Chippendale Walnut Slant Front Desk, Late 18th Century - A Mid-Atlantic Chippendale Walnut Slant Front Desk, Late 18th Century The dovetailed rectangular top over a hinged fall with mitered corners, enclosing an interior fitted with a central arched prospect door, flanked by vertical fluted document drawers, further flanked by three valanced pigeon holes over four small drawers to either side,  all above four graduated drawers, flanked by fluted quarter columns, raised on ogee bracket feet. Yellow pine secondary wood. Dimensions:  Height 44in; width 40 1/2in; depth 22 3/4in. Provenance: Property from a Bucks County, Pennsylvania Collection. Condition: Structurally sound. General marks, wear, nicks, abrasions, surface scratches and small losses throughout. Shrinkage and minor age cracks to fall front lid. The brass hardware are period replacements. The brass hardware is replaced. The brass hinges are replaced with associated patches from the hinged fall tearing off.
