New England Queen Anne Paint Decorated Blanket Chest, First Half 18th Century - A New England Queen Anne Paint Decorated Softwood Blanket Chest, First Half 18th Century In a later red wash, the rectangular snipe hinged top with thumb molded edge, enclosing an open box above a single dovetailed drawer, raised on bracket feet. Nailed construction. Dimensions: Height 33 1/2in; width 43 3/4in; depth 19in. Provenance: Property from the Naylor Estate, Malvern, Pennsylvania. Condition: Structurally sound. Remnants of several colors of earlier paint. Heavy marks, wear, nicks, abrasions, small losses and surface scratches overall. Lacking till to the interior. No key. Replaced turned knob.
