Mid-Atlantic Federal Inlaid Mahogany Chest of Drawers, Circa 1800 - A Mid-Atlantic Federal Inlaid Mahogany Chest of Drawers, Circa 1800 The rectangular top with string inlaid edges above four graduated inlaid drawers, raised on 'French' bracket feet. Having 3/4 depth dust boards, pine, poplar and yellow pine secondary wood. Dimensions: Height 36 1/2in; width 37 1/2in; depth 20 1/2in Provenance: Property from the Naylor Estate, Malvern, Pennsylvania. Condition: Structurally sound. The surface has a very dark finish. Significant age crack to the top along the right side. Traces and remnants of green paint throughout to crevices, drawer sides and beneath top along edges. The feet are mostly rebuilt and replaced. Two drawers lacking lockplates. No keys. The current brass pulls are period, but later replacements. there are secondary centrally drilled/plugged holes to drawer fronts.
