Federal Mahogany Drop-Leaf Dining Table, Early 19th Century - A Federal Mahogany Drop-Leaf Dining Table, Early 19th Century The rectangular top with drop leaves having rounded corners and reeded edges, either side fitted with two half width dovetailed drawers with cockbeading, raised on ring-turned legs, terminating in brass casters. White pine and yellow pine secondary wood. Dimensions: Height 28 3/4in; width 43 1/2in; depth closed 24 1/4in; length open 44 1/2in. Provenance: Property from the Naylor Estate, Malvern, Pennsylvania. Condition: Structurally sound. Even fading to the surface overall. The top and drop leaves with marks, wear, nicks, staining and small losses overall. Wear heaviest to top and legs. Shrinkage and age cracks. There are minor losses of cockbeading to edges of the drawers. There are several small scattered patches to the rule joints and one drop-leaf. The turned mushroom pulls are later replacements. No keys.
