American Late Federal Mahogany and Cherry Tall Case Clock, 19th Century - An American Late Federal Mahogany and Cherry Tall Case Clock, Mid-Atlantic States, First Quarter 19th Century The white-painted arched brass dial with rolling moon phase to the lunette, having Arabic numerals within hand-painted spandrels decorated with gilded shells, the twin train eight-day movement striking on a bell. Dimensions: Height 99 1/4in; width 19 3/4in; depth 10 1/2in. Provenance: Property from the Naylor Estate, Malvern, Pennsylvania. Condition: The case is structurally sound, in an overall refinish/restored condition. Shrinkage and age cracks throughout. Losses, patches and repairs to veneer. The hood with repairs throughout, urn form finials with glued breaks and repairs, several likely replaced. The glass dial door is later replaced with new glass. The painted dial with craquelure overall, flake losses, and touch-up throughout. With pendulum, two weights and case key. We cannot guarantee the completeness and functionality of the clock's movement.
