Pennsylvania Tulip Poplar Blanket Chest, Late 18th Century - A Pennsylvania Tulip Poplar Blanket Chest, Late 18th Century The strap hinged rectangular top with applied molded edges enclosing a dovetail-constructed box having a right covered till,  raised on bracket feet.  Dimensions: Height 21 3/4in; width 50 1/4in; depth 20 3/4in. Provenance: Property from the Naylor Estate, Malvern, Pennsylvania. Condition: Structurally sound. Marks, wear, rubbing, abrasions and surface scratches overall. Warping shrinkage and age cracks to the top. Horizontal age cracks to the front board where the corner meets dovetails. Minor losses and repairs to the front right bracket foot. Lacking lockplate and key.
